Class Teacher

St Roch’s Primary School is a mixed, mainstream, state primary school in Glasgow City. It admits children aged four to eleven and can accommodate up to 400 students at full capacity. 

St Roch’s Primary School was founded in 1907 and was named after Saint Roch. It has a specialist unit for pupils with hearing impairments. The school has close links to the local church, and the parish priest assists with the Christianity elements of religious and moral education.

St Roch’s Primary School aims to provide a welcoming and friendly environment for all its students and staff. It celebrates the diversity of the community and works hard to ensure everyone is safe, happy and valued. Teachers want each pupil to reach their full academic potential and to uphold these values in all they do: respect, equality and inclusion, friendship, pride, nurturing and caring, honesty and health. 

St Roch’s Primary School wants to create successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens and effective contributors. Positive behaviour is recognised and awarded through Golden Time treats, awards at assemblies and certificates. 

The primary school uses the Curriculum for Excellence, with pupils receiving a well-rounded education. The curriculum focuses on eight areas: expressive arts, health and well-being, languages, maths, religious and moral studies, science, social studies and technology.
