Job overview

Le Rondin School is looking to appoint with effect from 1st September 2017 an enthusiastic and committed class teacher who is passionate about providing an excellent education for our young people.

The person appointed, although initially based in Key Stage Two, may be required to teach across the age range of the school. They will also be expected to teach in a range of Curriculum/Skills Development Areas. They will need to demonstrate a commitment to high standards of teaching and learning and will be expected to make a full contribution to the life of the School.

This is an excellent opportunity to work as part of a valued team. Le Rondin is a Primary Special School for pupils aged 3-11 years who have a wide range of learning difficulties and additional special educational needs. The School is organised in three Departments: Early Years (from Nursery to Year 2); Lower Key Stage 2 (Years 3 and 4); and Upper Key Stage 2 (Years 5 and 6). At Le Rondin we aim to provide a bespoke curriculum tuned to the needs of individual pupils, enabling them to become confident individuals, successful learners, responsible citizens and effective contributors.

Le Rondin is co-located with the Forest Primary School and the two schools work closely together and share some facilities. The Centre accommodates colleagues from across the States of Guernsey who work closely in multi-agency teams to provide the best possible support.

This post carries a five-year employment permit. If appointed, you can expect to:

  • Work in a well-resourced school that follows an innovative Bailiwick curriculum based on the English National Curriculum and which has favourable PTRs;
  • Be part of a leading development of ICT in education and be allocated a personal laptop;
