Job overview

Westfield Primary School requires two additional, motivated and effective class teachers to join our friendly and welcoming team from 1st September 2019.  The ability to teach across the primary age range is essential, however the post will most likely be in Phase 2 (Years 2 and 3), both contracts will take effect from September 2019.

One post is fixed term and will end on the return to work (or end of employment) of the current post holder, it is anticipated that the contract will last for one academic year.

The other post will be permanent, covering here at Westfield school for one academic year and then general cover throughout the Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership Trust. This post would be most suitable for an NQT.

In our last Ofsted (April 2015) Westfield was judged as a good school.

‘The headteacher and other leaders in school, including governors, have worked together effectively to address the areas for improvement from the previous inspection. They identified what needed to change and have taken action to improve achievement and the quality of teaching, particularly in mathematics and phonics. They are ambitious for the ongoing success of the school.’ Ofsted 2015

Pupils are proud of their school and they look after it with care. The behaviour of pupils around the school is good; pupils are sensible, polite and respectful both towards each other and towards all adults. During lessons, they concentrate well and try hard.
