About Hinguar Primary School and Nursery

About Hinguar Primary School

Hinguar Primary School was opened in 1886 to serve the village of Shoeburyness and the local garrison. It has been remodelled and extended over the years and today fulfils the role of a modern primary school within its community.

We are a smaller primary school with 250 children. We are a family school and many of the parents and grandparents of our current children, once attended Hinguar. We are located close to local shops and 2 minutes away from East Beach (awarded a Blue Flag), which is an invaluable teaching resource, as well as a lovely occasional lunchtime walk!

We are a school that has a strong ethos on respecting and achieving together as pupils and staff, including our parents. We work hard to improve and achieve our best in all that we do and celebrate each others successes. Our children have a secure experience of being a member of a learning community and contribute readily, for example through the School Council, to help make their school even better.

We are a school that supports our children’s life long learning – skills, qualities and attributes within a supportive learning community so as to achieve success in their future.
