Job overview

We are seeking to appoint a Class Teacher. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified, imaginative, driven teacher who works with equal efficacy independently and as part of a team.

The post holder will be highly organised as well as being able to communicate effectively with parents, teachers, middle and senior leaders across the school. A willingness to play a part in the co-curricular programme, would be an advantage.

The salary offered to the successful candidate will be in line with the Alpha Plus pay scale and commensurate with skills and experience.

The teacher is accountable to the Headmistress through the Deputy Head, for all academic and personnel matters and the Section Lead for pastoral matters.

The School

Falcons School for Girls (which incorporates the co-educational Peregrines Nursery for 2 and 4 year olds) provides independent education for girls aged four to eleven years.

JOB DESCRIPTION & PERSON SPECIFICATION 

• To act as a class teacher to a KS1 or KS2 class as required 

• To be a committed member of the whole school community

• To keep records that will monitor the progress of individual children

• To support the school by providing clear, positive and meaningful communication to the parents of the children. Individual reports will be required to be completed termly

• To take an active role in planning school visits, and liaise with other members of staff for these events

• To promote and foster good relationships amongst the staff and promote and implement all aspects of school policy. The teacher should work enthusiastically towards the long term aims of the school

• To accompany pupils on residential trips as required

• To attend parents’ conference meetings and prepare written reports as required

• To work with other colleagues across the Alpha-Plus Group

• To take responsibility for and lead in a subject area as required  

• To participate in the extra-curricular life of the school

• To undertake such other comparable duties as the Headmistress requires from time to time

To have responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children. All teachers have a duty to adhere to and ensure compliance with the school’s Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy at all times and report any concerns immediately to the Designated Safeguarding Lead.
