Class Teacher

St. Columba’s Primary School is a denominational school serving the community of Boghall, Bathgate. The school roll is currently 140 arranged in 6 classes from P1-P7. In addition to this there is a nurture class which supports P1-3 children, in particular. There is a non-teaching Head Teacher and Principal Teacher, 8 Class Teachers and 1 full time Support for Learning Coordinator. RCCT is delivered using specialist staff who are developing and teaching within the areas of Expressive arts and PE. There are currently 6 Pupil Support Workers deployed at various stages across the school to support children with identified learning needs and to support whole school working. There is a full time Administrative Assistant. The school works in partnership with St. Kentigern’s Academy and cluster primary schools as well as the Parish, Parent Council, Parent Council wider parent forum. St. Columba’s has a good reputation within the local community.

Our staff support each other well to maintain high standards of care, welfare and learning for all our children. The school vision, values and aims are central to our ethos and culture. Our highly committed team and wider community work collaboratively to raise attainment and further develop the curriculum. Teachers have opportunities to be creative and imaginative in their approach to learning, teaching and assessment in a climate which promotes equity and excellence.

He/She will be a reflective, enquiring practitioner and will benefit from the experience of working in a close, supportive team. RC Church approval is essential.
