Class Teacher

Balbardie Primary School is a non-denominational school which serves the town of Bathgate. In session 2017-2018 the school roll is 430. The school also has an Autistic Spectrum Resource (ASR) for children from across the local authority with social, communication and language difficulties. Bathgate West Nursery School is also managed by the Head Teacher at Balbardie PS with a current roll of 92.

The school and nursery is staffed by a Head Teacher, Depute Head Teacher, 6 Principal Teachers, 20 teaching staff, 13 pupil support workers and 3 admin staff. The school benefits from having a full time PE specialist, part-time Drama teacher, part-time Art teacher and visiting music specialists. The nursery also has an Early Years Officer, 5 nursery nurses and 2 pupil support workers.

The school runs a very successful Breakfast Club and has an after-school provision managed by Simply Play.

The school has very effective partnerships with our stakeholders and these positive relationships also work well with a wide range of organisations/agencies outside and beyond the school. These partnerships have been successful in supporting all our children with a wide range of challenges.

A relevant teaching qualification and registration with the General Teaching Council for Scotland is essential.
