St. Paul’s Primary is located in the town of East Calder. It is a Roman Catholic co-educational school. As a denominational primary school Christian principles and teaching under pin our ethos. Our school has strong links with the local Parish of St. Theresa’s and other local churches as well as the wider community. St. Paul’s Primary School is a denominational school serving the villages of East Calder, Mid Calder, Pumpherston and Kirknewton. We also have placing requests from outside the catchment area each session.

Our Catholic Christian ethos promotes a safe, happy and inspiring learning community. We have developed strong partnerships with our cluster high school St Margaret’s and our linked cluster primaries. Our pupils and families are proud to be part of St Paul’s school and are well respected within the local community. In Session 18-19 St. Paul’s will have 8 classes and a nursery class. This session the school has 8.8FTE equivalent teachers including one principal teacher. There is a 0.4 support for learning teacher, 0.5 PE specialist, 0.2 music specialist, 2 pupil support workers and one full time admin assistant. St. Paul’s also has a weekly visit from a brass instructor. Our nursery class has the capacity for 40 preschool children aged 3 and 4 years.
