St. Mary’s R.C. Primary School is a large denominational school serving the community of Bathgate. The school roll this session is 442. The school is staffed by a Head Teacher, a Depute Head Teacher, 2 Principal Teachers, 15 Class Teachers, 7 Pupil Support Workers, a full-time Administration Assistant and a full-time Secretary. The school currently sits in decile 6 of the Scottish Index for Multiple Deprivation.

St. Mary’s is an integral part of the local community, enjoying strong links with our Parish, St. Mary’s and St. Columba’s, as well as St. Kentigern’s Academy and cluster schools.

Our staff support each other well to maintain high standards of care, welfare and learning for all our children. Our vision, values and aims are central to our school ethos and culture. Our priority for improvement is to develop excellence through raising attainment and achieving equity.

We wish to appoint a full time, permanent class teacher. Candidates should be conscientious, highly motivated, enthusiastic and innovative. He/She will be a reflective, enquiring practitioner and will benefit from the experience of working in a close, supportive team. RC Church approval is essential.
