Croftmalloch Primary School is a non-denominational school serving the community of Whitburn. The school accommodates 9 primary classes and a nursery class with a roll of 40 children over 2 sessions.

The school and nursery is currently staffed by a Principal Teacher,13 class teachers, one chartered teacher, one Support for Learning Teacher, and a non-teaching Head Teacher. The school benefits from a P.E specialist and a French Teacher. The nursery comprises of a 0.5 Nursery Teacher, 1 Nursery nurse, and 1 Early Years Officer. The school is supported by a team of 4 part-time Pupil Support Workers who assist pupils in class. Clerical support is provided by an Administrative Assistant and a Clerical Assistant.

The roll of the school is 207. The school’s FME is currently 27.12% and it sits 23 out of 67 primary schools in rankings within West Lothian. 23.38% of our children are in SIMD 1 and 2 with a further 32.34% at Decile 3, providing an exciting opportunity for the school to address the ‘closing the gap’ agenda.

The school has a supportive parent body and works closely with the local community to establish effective links to support our children’s learning.

A relevant teaching qualification and registration with the General Teaching Council for Scotland is essential.
