Class Teacher with Middle Leadership Responsibility- Personal Social Development (PSD) Lead

Pield Heath House School is a non-maintained day residential school for children and young people aged 7-19 years with a range of additional needs including speech and language and communication disorders, sensory regulation difficulties and associated behaviours. About the Role:

This is a middle leadership position with a whole-school responsibility for Personal Social Development (PSD) – a key strand of our curriculum that underpins independence, life skills, and personal wellbeing.

As a Class Teacher, you will:

• Deliver high-quality, creative teaching that supports children with SLD and complex needs to achieve their individual potential.
• Foster independence, communication, and social understanding in a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment.
• Use your knowledge of sensory processing, behaviour regulation, and differentiated approaches to tailor learning.

As a PSD lead, you will:

• Lead, plan and coordinate the delivery of the PSD curriculum across the school, embedding real-life skills, personal responsibility, and community engagement.
• Inspire and support colleagues in the delivery of PSD within their classrooms.
• Lead on curriculum development, enrichment opportunities, and partnership initiatives that help our pupils thrive as valued members of their communities.

What we're looking for:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Proven experience of working with children and young people with SLD and complex SEND.
• A strong understanding of sensory processing, behaviour regulation strategies, and communication approaches such as PECS or AAC.
• A deep commitment to inclusive, person-centred education.
• Leadership potential, with the vision and energy to take PSD to the next level in our setting.
