Crompton House is a highly-successful, over-subscribed 11-18 Comprehensive Church of England school situated on the edge of the Pennines. We are seeking to appoint a highly effective Classroom Manager to support the day to day cover of classes, in the absence of a teacher, in order to provide continuity of learning.

If you feel that you could supervise work in accordance with school policy, manage the behaviour of students who are undertaking the work set, respond to students, create and maintain a safe environment for all students, collect work that has been set and feedback on behaviour and any issues that arise during the lessons, then this is the job for you!

Working at Crompton House School is stimulating, challenging and fun. Life here is always varied, never dull and infinitely interesting because our pupils are highly independent learners and very enthusiastic and willing participants in learning activities. They received praise from Ofsted in April 2015 “The behaviour of students is outstanding” “Students attitudes to learning are excellent” “Students of all ages demonstrate a real pride in their school”

This helps the staff to be passionate about everything they do and there is a great sense of community. There are plenty of opportunities to get involved in school life beyond the curriculum and within the wider community.

Crompton House is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff, volunteers and governors to share this commitment. In this respect all potential applicants are advised that any offer of appointment will be subject to enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service clearance as well as other relevant recruitment checks

Ofsted report

The behaviour of students is outstanding. Students’ conduct is excellent, including during break time, at lunch time, during assemblies and tutorial sessions, as well as in lessons and between lessons. As a result, students are always punctual for lessons and no learning time is wasted because of lateness. Students’ attitudes to learning are excellent in nearly all areas of the curriculum.”
