About the Role

We are currently seeking a Primary Classroom Teacher to join our comprehensive and vibrant community. To be successful in this role, you will have knowledge of, and commitment to, inquiry-based learning in the chosen subject area, together with successful planning and implementation of teaching programs including the use of iPad's. You will have highly effective communication and organisational skills, as well as a comprehensive understanding of assessment and reporting strategies and the need to provide effective and timely feedback to parents and students.

Essential Criteria

  • An understanding and commitment to the Church’s mission in Catholic Education and the capacity to contribute to the spiritual and community life of the school.
  • Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills so as to engage positively with colleagues, students and parents.
  • Strong literacy and numeracy knowledge and the ability to implement open ended learning tasks which promote differentiation.
  • Classroom management and organisational skills that create supportive and safe environments, including managing challenging student behaviours and meeting a variety of learning needs.
  • Knowledge of, and commitment to, inquiry-based learning in the chosen subject area, together with successful planning and implementation of teaching programs including the use of iPads.
  • A comprehensive understanding of assessment and reporting strategies and the need to provide effective and timely feedback to parents and students.

This position is temporary in nature because the substantive occupant (the incumbent) is taking parental leave. The incumbent is entitled to return earlier to their substantive position in accordance with the Fair Work Act 2009.
