Teacher for ‘The Acorns’ Resource
We are looking to appoint an SEN experienced classroom practitioner to work in our established ASD Resource. The Acorns is very well equipped and supported, and this post provides an ideal opportunity to further develop skills and knowledge of ASD in a setting praised by Ofsted for its effectiveness.
Reporting to the Head of the Resource, you will be responsible for the education and pastoral needs of Acorn pupils, working effectively to raise pupil achievement. Experience of working with autistic pupils (either in mainstream or a special educational setting) is desirable.
In addition to being an outstanding team player with excellent inter-personal skills and a sense of humour, the successful candidate will have an interest in autism and be committed to inclusion.
NQT will receive full support and training via the WBC NQT programme
Visits to the school are warmly welcomed. Please call Margaret Lucey on 0118 402 3960, or email: finance@westende.wokingham.sch.uk for further details or to arrange a visit.
Shortlisting will take place on receipt of application. Interviews will then be held at a mutually convenient time/date.
The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare and safety of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. This post is subject to a satisfactory DBS enhanced disclosure certificate.
