About the role

Greenfields Primary School is looking to employ a dedicated and hardworking cleaner to join our existing team.

We are looking for a friendly and competent individual with some experience of cleaning in schools, hospitals or commercial premises. The successful candidate will be required to follow and adhere to a cleaning schedule to ensure that the premises are cleaned and tidied to the highest standard and to create a pleasant environment for both staff and pupils in the school. You will need the ability to work with limited supervision, be physically fit as the job will involve some lifting and carrying and have an awareness to all Health & Safety policies and procedures.

The hours are 17.5 hours a week/ 3.5 hours a day Monday to Friday, term time only plus one week during the summer.

Start date: September 2022 pending notice period and the completion of pre-employment checks.

Who we are looking for

Able to communicate clearly, understand and follow instructions.

Experience of undertaking general cleaning duties.

Ability to communicate with a wide range of people.

Ability to carry out general cleaning duties as detailed in the Job Description.

Is punctual and reliable.

Ability to manage time effectively to complete tasks to a high level.

Ability to prioritise work.

Able to work with minimum supervision or as part of a team.

Ability to work both alone and within a team to achieve specified standards.

Be flexible to changing demands of the post.

Have an awareness of and display a commitment to the relevant legislation and guidance in working practices in relation to the safeguarding of children and young people.
