Job overview

The Clerk is in effect the Secretary to the GNSA Board of Directors and is accountable to the Chair of the Board. The role involves working with all directors, especially the Chairs of standing committees and other working groups of directors. It requires close liaison with the Executive Principal and his staff and, through them, Service providers and the wider community including schools and other education providers, community groups, business, the DfE and London Borough of Hillingdon as necessary.

This is a high-profile role that requires discretion and confidentiality and the post holder is likely to have experience of working with or within a complex organisation, and who has a sound grasp of legislation with the confidence to research and advise the Board. Whilst experience of education is useful it is not a pre-requisite, but the post holder must be willing to learn and keep abreast of changes in national education policy.

The post is part-time with occasional daytime and evening commitments, as well as some Saturday mornings. A competitive remuneration is available to a successful candidate
