The Wellington College Academy Trust currently includes two schools. The Wellington Academy, a secondary school and state boarding school for students aged 11-18 and Wellington Primary Academy for pupils up to age 11, including The Nest Nursery and an Enterprise Company. The Trust is growing with Wellington Eagles Primary Academy and a 30-place Nursery opening in September 2019. The Wellington Academy is expanding to allow for an increase in student numbers because of the rebasing of the Army to the UK from Germany.

The role is to be responsible for the effective support to the Governors of the Trust by ensuring that all appropriate legislation, procedures and documents are in place and being implemented. You will provide appropriate guidance and support to the Board and to various WCAT committees and their members as well as act as Company Secretary to the Trust and any other companies under its control. Other responsibilities include the co-ordination and production of Trust wide policies to ensure they are up-to-date and relevant and managing the recruitment, on boarding and induction of all new Governors ensuring compliance. The role will be based at The Wellington Academy with travel as required to attend meetings.
To be considered for the role you must possess excellent administration and IT skills, in particular Word and Outlook and will be educated to a good standard, particularly in English and Maths. You will be able to manage and advise on the annual Governors meetings with writing Agendas and taking accurate, concise Minutes whilst maintaining confidentiality and discretion. The ideal candidate will have attended the National Training Programme for Clerks or equivalent, or be willing to undertake this.
