Clerk to the Corporation

We are seeking a Clerk to manage and administer the business of the corporation including the effective servicing of meetings and committees. You would need to develop good working relationships with the Chair, individual governors and the Principal enabling you to offer advice to the governing body on the proper exercise of its powers.
You should be experienced in committee work and the administration of meetings of corporate bodies. An appreciation of the role of corporations or governing bodies would be an advantage as would an understanding of secondary education, particularly sixth form colleges. As the College will be seeking to become an Academy, knowledge or experience of being a Company Secretary within an Academy would also be advantageous.
The hours required are 450 hours a year to be worked flexibly around the needs of the Corporation including attendance at evening meetings (around 20 evenings each year) and a day (or 2 part-days) a week in College during term time. The actual salary based on these hours is £11,307 per year.

The Principal Emma Young is supported by the Senior Management Team. The college employs around 200 teaching and support staff who are committed to supporting students to achieve their goals through a broad mix of programmes and extra-curricular activities. CPD

Godalming, along with other sixth form colleges in Surrey & Sussex belongs to a consortium known as S7 who work closely together to provide specifically tailored training and development for staff and facilitate meetings for specific groups and an annual teaching conference.
