The Governing Board of the College seeks to appoint a highly skilled and experienced clerk to the Governing Board and to act as Company Secretary.

Contract: a minimum of 10 hours per week term-time only.

Salary: £16.00 per hour

The Main Purpose of the Role

To:

• Provide advice to the Governing Board on governance, constitutional and procedural matters.

• Provide effective administrative and organizational support to the Governing Board and its committees.

• Ensure the Governing Board is properly constituted.

• Provide guidance to ensure that the Governing Board works in compliance with the appropriate legal and regulatory framework and understands the potential consequences for noncompliance.

• Advice on procedural matters relating to any Governor panels such as appointment panels and disciplinary panels.

In addition, the clerk will act as Company Secretary as follows:

• To be responsible for ensuring the academy complies with relevant legislation and regulations.

• To establish and maintain procedures for the sound governance of the College and advise the Governing Board on developments in governance issues as they pertain to academies.
