Job overview
We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and professional person who has effective ICT skills, initiative, and excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
The successful postholder will be required to provide an efficient and professional service to our Local Governing Body. Local Governing Body meetings are currently held seven times a year on a Thursday in the early evening. Our portfolio meetings are held in the day, during six weeks of the year. There will also be other occasional meetings on top of this to support other duties.
Duties will include attendance and minute taking at meetings, formation of agendas, handling correspondence, circulation of papers, management of the policy review cycle, support for the Chair of Governors and Headteacher and guidance for the Governing Body on procedural matters.
The Ilfracombe Academy has recently been inspected by both SIAMS and OFSTED and received Good in both inspections. The Academy has a dynamic leadership team across both senior and middle leaders, and professional development opportunities for all our staff. We are part of the St Christopher’s C of E Secondary Multi Academy Trust.

About The Ilfracombe Academy
The Ilfracombe Academy is an 11-18 Church of England Academy located in the town of Ilfracombe, on a hill overlooking the sea. The school is a new build under the Priority School Building Programme and was completed in October 2017. There are currently approximately 1070 students on roll with 140 in the Sixth Form. The school role is rising due to demographic changes, and also to the fact that the school is becoming increasingly popular with parents and children as their first choice school.

The school has “grown” many of its leaders and is committed to offering all staff the opportunity to develop professionally. Staff value the wide range of CPD on offer.
The school has a four-year rising trend of GCSE results but there is no sense of complacency and the school values applications from candidates who are committed to making a difference to the lives of young people in the coastal community.
