The King’s School comprises three schools in Worcester, and is co-educational for children aged 2– 18.

 

The Governing Body and Headmaster of The King’s School Worcester are seeking to appoint an experienced Clerk to the Governors to join this dynamic and thriving school. The postholder is responsible for ensuring the Governors are able to operate effectively and to ensure the quality and efficiency of governance within legal frameworks.  

  

The successful individual will report directly to the Chair of Governors in liaison with the Headmaster, junior school heads, Director of Finance and Director of Operations.  Working closely with the Governing Body the postholder will provide professional support and advice, and carry out a range of administrative responsibilities including collation of governor papers and minute taking.  The Clerk will attend all Governing Body meetings including sub-committees and be the first point of contact for all matters relating to the governance of the School.


Candidates must have proven experience preferably within the education sector.  Strong organisational, communication and relationship building skills are essential. The role is flexible part time, based on working 16 hours per week during term time/544 hours per annum.  Any additional hours will be due to planned or exceptional circumstances.  Some remote working would be possible by arrangement.
