At Kedleston Group, our vision is simple, every provision we operate will be recognised as ‘outstanding’ in every way. We will never be the biggest, but we will lead, and others will follow.

About the role:

As a Clinical Psychologist at High Peak School you will be an integral part of our team who put the children and young people at the heart of everything we do. This is a key role working within a small but highly experienced, highly motivated and passionate clinical team which includes Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and a Consultant Psychiatrist. The successful applicant will work directly on a 1:1 and group basis with the young people as well as take a key part in the training, development and support of the care and education teams. We recognise the need for extensive mental health support to our group of complex young people and therefore have developed and invested in a clinical model that can respond to this need. In particular, we value the need for psychologically driven practice and strive to achieve a shared psychological understanding of the children in our care across the system. We see the clinical psychologist as pivotal in achieving this aspiration.

About you:

For this role, we are looking for someone who has registration with the HCPC, a doctorate or equivalent level qualification in clinical or counselling psychology, and highly developed skills in communicating effectively, both verbally and in written form, highly complex, technical and sensitive information to young people, their families, carers, education staff, and other agency professionals. You will have skills in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment intervention and management and it would be desirable to have a doctoral level knowledge of research and audit. We would love to hear from you if you share our passion and commitment to developing confident and capable young people by meeting their educational, health and social care needs in structured, nurturing school and home provisions.
