Co-op Academies Trust aims to provide an outstanding education for all our learners, founded on co-operative values, at the heart of the community. It is responsible for 27 academies in West Yorkshire, Greater Manchester, Wirral, Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent with the Co-op acting as the sponsor. There is the likelihood of significant further growth in the near future.

Would you like to be part of an exciting new team to support young people and families in inner-city Leeds?

If this is something that you are passionate about then we have the perfect new team for you. Co-op Academy Brownhill, Co-op Academy Leeds, Co-op Academy Nightingale, Co-op Academy Oakwood and Co-op Academy Woodlands are creating a brand new Families & Students support team to work together with all of the academies to support our young people and their families in maximising their education.

We are advertising for four separate roles to form our strong team, these roles are:

Attendance Officer

Counsellor/Therapist

Family Support Worker (two roles)

If you are interested in any of these roles please get in contact with Sam Moncaster – Samuel.moncaster@coopacademies.co.uk for a confidential conversation about the role and to answer any questions you may have.

The Counsellor/Therapist will provide one-to-one sessions for our students and develop a wide range of interventions. You will work closely with our Academies experienced teams of pastoral colleagues, who are passionate about creating a caring and supportive environment for our students.

You will be strong team player, possess excellent communication skills and have experience in a professional counselling role. The ideal candidate will be committed to supporting the Academies safeguarding agenda and able to work effectively with external agencies.

As a colleague at Leeds, you’ll work within a diverse community, striving to deliver an outstanding working and learning experience for all. Therefore, a genuine passion for working and making a real difference in the community is essential.

Co-op Academy Leeds is a ‘Good’ school (Ofsted, Nov 2022) and on the back of our recent successes we’re fully committed to getting even better.

Here at Co-op Academy Leeds, we aim to ensure everyone has the opportunity to flourish, both academically and socially.  We expect students and staff to have the courage to aim high, the commitment to persevere – even when the going gets tough – and the mindset which will allow them to grow.

Teaching and learning sit right at the heart of everything we do – nothing else matters if the learning culture is not good enough.  We focus relentlessly on ensuring staff receive regular, relevant and useful professional development, much of which is provided and delivered by our in-house Teaching & Learning Team.  Anyone who joins us is expected to contribute to this sharing culture.

We have high expectations – and unstinting moral values.  As an integral part of Co-op Academies Trust, we espouse the core Co-op values (Self-help, Self-responsibility, Solidarity, Democracy, Equity and Equality) and have adopted the 4 Ways of Being Co-op: Be yourself, always; Do what matters most; Show you care; Succeed together.

We also enjoy the significant support of the Trust and the Sponsor, which brings with it a range of opportunities and benefits, alongside a less “formal” package of colleagues working together to look after their well-being and forge stronger relationships.

We really are all about providing the best we can for everyone – making sure our students leave here and move on to better things, whatever their starting points and backgrounds.
