St Teresa’s College Abergowrie is situated in the beautiful Herbert River Valley, west of Ingham, North Queensland.  The College is a residential Boys Agricultural College with 190 students with a strong commitment to educating Indigenous students. The College has undergone major refurbishments in both the school and residential facilities.

To be considered for the position of College Chaplain, you will be required to work in collaborative partnership to:

  • Provide pastoral and spiritual support to students
  • Support student wellbeing
  • Engage the school community in social justice and social action
  • Undertake ongoing professional learning.

Applicants need to have a minimum Certificate IV in Youth Work or Pastoral Care or equivalent qualification.  This position is considered “child related employment” and the preferred applicant will be subject to employment screening in accordance with the Commission for Children and Young People Act 2000.

This position commences January 2019.  The position is term time, fixed term for 20 hours per week.

You will be required to complete Student Protection Training and have, or obtain, a current Working with Children Suitability Card (Blue Card) or be able to attain one prior to your commencement.
