College Groundsperson - Mt Maria College Petrie

The successful applicant will:

• have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education;

• currently hold or be eligible to hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card; and

• be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.

We are seeking the services of a part time grounds person to assist with the general grounds and building maintenance of the College. The successful applicant should possess an abundance of energy and enthusiasm along with a great work ethic. A general knowledge of grounds and building maintenance a definite advantage. Duties include, but are not limited to: mowing, edging and hedging, weeding and pruning of substantial gardens, general light building maintenance and cleaning. Although the position is for two days per week, the ability to work extra hours across the holiday periods would be advantageous. The position would ideally suit someone looking for part time work with handyman knowledge and ability. If this is you, please apply. Mt Maria College Petrie is a co-educational Secondary College administered by the Catholic Archdiocese of Brisbane through the Brisbane Catholic Education Office and is a member of Marist Schools of Australia. It is located next to Our Lady of the Way school and Church in Petrie. The College was established by Brisbane Catholic Education in 1987 and was originally named “Kolbe College” after Saint Maximillian Kolbe. One of the main strengths of the College is the continual provision of Inclusive Education to its clientele. Salary Level, Range or Hourly Rate:   Level 2 services wage – hourly rate of $26.04

Employment Conditions:   Diocesan Catholic Education Employing Authorities in Queensland Single Interest Agreement 2015-2019

This position involves working with children.  The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child related employment in accordance with the law.
