London's leading College is looking for an exceptional Communication Support Worker to join the Inclusive Learning Team. 

About the role:

This role is to enable our hearing impaired students to access the curriculum at college and facilitate learning. The Communication Support Worker will have minimum Level 3 and upwards British Sign Language skills, along with a minimum of 2 years' experience in an educational context, and experience of working with young adults. The CSW will also be an advocate for the hearing impaired student, and enable participation in the classroom. You will be required to work closely with the CSW coordinator and Inclusive Learning Manager, and be happy to report both verbally and written on your student's progress.  You will also be expected to keep logs of what the student has achieved, as well as set SMART targets for your student(s).  Computer skills are necessary, such as proficiency with word, outlook and working with a database to record student progress. You will be happy to work as part of a team, and enable success for our hearing impaired students.

About you:

The Communication Support Worker will have minimum Level 3 and upwards British Sign Language skills, along with a minimum of 2 years' experience in an educational context, and experience of working with young adults. You will be motivated, have great interpersonal skills and be prepared to ensure you research any vocabulary/ CSW signs needed for effective communication for your student's chosen course.
