Are you passionate about the role education can play in transforming lives? Are you a Brand Ambassador for your organisation, and can share key messages across a wide range of channels?

Huddersfield New College is an outstanding, award winning College that is one of the best in the country. Our students and staff are proud to be members of our diverse and welcoming community, and we have plenty of fantastic news to celebrate.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Communications Officer to join our small but dynamic Marketing & Schools Liaison department. This team plays a key role in ensuring prospective applicants hear all about what we have to offer them, and in celebrating the amazing achievements of our young people. The team also plays a key part in ensuring that we are outstanding out of the classroom too, and our high standards are reflected in every aspect of what we do internally and externally, from Open Events to our Freshers’ Fair and marketing of enrichment.

This is a real opportunity to be involved in a fast paced environment where you’ll have a chance to develop your skills and deliver a wide range of marketing and external relations activities. No two days are the same – one day you could be presenting at an assembly, the next copywriting an enrichment guide and ensuring we are ready to welcome hundreds of prospective students and working with our Graphic Designer to produce video content for a virtual event.

Experience or knowledge of the education sector is helpful, but not essential. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with proven external relations and marketing skills who understands the vital role this department plays in recruiting with integrity, and in ensuring the whole College experience is an outstanding one. If this sounds like you, please take a look at our website which shares more about who we are.

Informal discussions about the post are welcome.

Huddersfield New College is ‘Disability Confident Leader’ employer and we are committed to fulfilling the disability provisions of the Equality Act 2010.  All disabled candidates who meet the essential criteria for a post will be offered an interview and we will make all reasonable adjustments to enable you to attend the interview. We are committed to equal opportunities and safeguarding young people and an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service certificate will be required for all posts. Applications are welcomed from all sections of the community.

The successful candidate will be subject to relevant background and safeguarding checks.

The interview and assessment date for this post is TBC on WC 31st June 2021. The closing date for this vacancy is midday on 24th May 2021.

Application is via the College's recruitment portal www.huddnewcoll.ac.uk. No Agencies please.
