Derby College Group are looking to recruit a qualified BSL interpreter to join their OFSTED Outstanding Inclusion and Support Team as a Community & Educational Interpreter. This is a fixed-term maternity cover position until 31st May 2023.
This is a unique and exciting opportunity to join the Deaf Access team who provide interpreting services for external and internal Deaf customers/students within education, business, medical and community settings across Derby, Derbyshire and surrounding areas. If you are positive, motivated, ready to learn new skills and be a role model we'd love to hear from you!
You will be able to provide personalised support to a range of Deaf customers and students on study programmes across external and College sites, thus improving retention and achievement. The successful applicant will be NRCPD registered, suitably qualified to Level 4/6 BSL and will have completed Level 6 Interpreter training.

Derby College is a large general further education college with four sites in or near the city of Derby. It supports around 26,000 learners, who choose from more than 1,000 full-time and part-time apprenticeship, A-level, BTEC and NVQ courses.
Derby College was established as a single institution in 2002 by merging three further education colleges: Mackworth Tertiary College, Wilmorton Tertiary College and Broomfield Agricultural College. A merger between South East Derbyshire College and Derby College was approved in 2010. Heavy investment has been made by the college in its teaching and learning facilities, from the fully equipped teaching kitchens at the Roundhouse campus to the high-tech science labs at the Joseph Wright Centre and the Equestrian Centre at the Broomfield Hall campus.
