Atlas Primary Academy is one dedicated to providing a stimulating, inclusive and nurturing learning environment for our students and their families. Part of the Astrea Academy Trust, Atlas Academy is a vibrant and diverse school situated in the heart of Doncaster and serves students from the ages of 3 to 11 years. We know that every child is special and we aim to provide them with rich learning experiences so that they develop into confident, capable, resilient and independent learners. We expect our children to foster a love of learning and want them to be aspirational and motivated across all areas of the school's curriculum.

The person appointed will lead the KS1 team of 3 or 4 teachers and phonics. The School uses RWInc and is looking for someone to drive improvements in phonics. As team leader of KS1 the person will attend senior leadership team meetings and run KS1 meetings.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate their ability to accelerate children’s learning, be committed to achieving high standards as well as inclusion, be resilient and have a good sense of humour. As an experienced classroom practitioner, you will join our team from September 2018.

Atlas Academy is located in central Doncaster in South Yorkshire.


We currently have about 420 pupils on roll and fifteen classes throughout the school: Morning and Afternoon Nursery and 2 classes in each year group from Reception to Year 6.


The school is on an exciting improvement journey with its leaders committed to a clear plan for future success. We use strong initiatives such as a tightly coherent phonics scheme, a knowledge rich curriculum and incremental coaching to support improving pedagogy.
