About King Faisal School

King Faisal School (KFS) is situated in the Saudi Arabian capital of Riyadh, close to the centre of the country. While English is the primary language of instruction, there are Arabic lessons to preserve the country’s cultural identity. It is a private school that is a member of the King Faisal Foundation (KFF), an organisation with a wide portfolio of investments, in Universities as well as KFS. Today, the school educates around 1,900 students between the ages of 6-18, the school having an approximate teacher to student ratio of 1:10. Boys attend the school from 3 to 18 years of age and girls from 3 to 11 with the girls' school growing year on year until it is a full through-school. They share 36 acres within Riyadh's most desirable district, the Diplomatic Quarter.

The school and foundation is named after the King of Saudi Arabia from 1964 until his death in 1975, a man often praised for modernising and reforming the country. The King was a strong believer that a well-educated nation is one of the foundation stones of a strong and successful country. The KFF was founded in 1976 and KFS launched in 1991. Over the first 20 years of the school’s existence, the student population tripled. In April 2014, the KFF teamed up with the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IB) to bring IB accreditation to Saudi Arabia, and KFS was one such school. KFS is also the first national school in Saudi Arabia to apply international standards of education to its curriculum successfully.

Chairman of Board of Directors

Prince Bandar bin Saud bin Khalid

Values and Vision

KFS is focused on upholding good citizenship and service to family and country as well as creating academic excellence in order to “shape tomorrow’s leaders”. It is proud of both its heritage and its status as an international school that meets the demands of the modern world.
