A school like no other, Wellington College is one of the world’s leading co-educational boarding and day schools and has an enviable reputation for excellence and innovation. We’re currently looking for a Postgraduate Teacher to teach Computer Science across the full age range from year 9 to year 13.
Computer Science is one of the fastest growing departments at the College and has seen growth in numbers consistently over the past 5 years. In addition to the academic courses available, we also run workshops and extra-curricular activities each week. Join us, and not only will you help deliver exciting and engaging lessons, you’ll be able to support the learning, pastoral and co-curricular needs of our students too.
As well as teaching a standard timetable allocation, you will play an active role in the extra-curricular life of the Department. This will involve contributing to off-timetable workshops, extension programmes, pre-university seminars and competitions etc. Setting and marking examinations, sharing good practice and resources and safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children are all aspects of a role that will see you play your part in enhancing the quality of teaching and learning in the department and the wider college.
A great opportunity to draw upon your interests and enthusiasms, and contribute wholeheartedly to other aspects of school life, you will need a minimum of a good level degree in a relevant subject. You’ll also need an excellent understanding of Computer Science fundamentals, programming and theory. The character, personality, ‘teachability’ and ambition to learn and develop within the role is essential too, as is a willingness to participate in extra-curricular activities such as sport, drama, school trips, CCF activities etc.
Not only is this an excellent career development opportunity, it also comes with a generous salary and benefits package. So, if you are committed to boarding school life, have a genuine passion for the subject and are keen to continue to develop professionally, apply today.
