  • Secondary: National Curriculum & MYP program / Compete-IT from Hodder Education 
  • DP: IB computer science curriculum (to be introduced in September 2019)

Detailed Job Description

  • Teaching Computer Science at primary and MYP level next school year
  • Introduce the "Computer Science" subject in DP in 2019
  • To plan and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated Computing curriculum for students from primary to DP.
  • Track pupil progress – assess, record and report on pupils’ attainment and progress at frequent intervals according to the School’s and departmental policies, and keep records of these. 
  • Liaise closely with the subject leaders and Learning Support on any issues concerning your department and/or the pupils. 
  • To facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential;
  • To maintain discipline in accordance with the school’s procedures, and to encourage good practice with regard to punctuality, behavior, standards of work and homework;
  • To demonstrate, through curriculum knowledge, creativity and application, how your subject is relevant and inspire students in your subject area to succeed at the highest level possible 
  • To provide extra-curricular enrichment activities (robotics and coding clubs) 
  • Developing "computational thinking" through the school

The Primary school campus and extensive whole-school sport facilities were completed in 2014. It is situated close to the secondary school in St-Légier, and comprises classrooms, specialist art and music rooms, a library, a uniform shop, a teaching kitchen and numerous offices. Modern facilities at the secondary campus include specialist IT rooms and Computer Aided Design (CAD) technology linked to a laser cutter and plastic former in the tech lab. Saint-Légier-La Chiésaz is located in the canton of Vaud, and has a total population of approximately 5,000.
