Job overview
As Cook in Charge at our Witherslack Group school, you’ll whip up delicious meals for staff, visitors and young people. Food hygiene is paramount and you’ll observe all regulations. You’ll also plan menus and consider nutritional standards. It’s a great opportunity to build relationships with staff and young people alike.
Along with a Level 3 qualification in Food Safety in Catering (or equivalent), you’ll bring good organisational skills and the ability to plan menus. These menus must be well-balanced and encourage our young people to try new food. Having catered for large groups before, you’ll know how to budget and order in bulk. An insistence on high standards means your food is always tasty and well prepared.
For children with complex, challenging needs, the level of care and education must go above and beyond. That’s what drives us, here at Witherslack Group. Through our aspirational homes, schools and ethos, we’ve achieved the highest possible outcomes. In short, we’re enhancing life opportunities.
Rewards
We know you’re going to do great things as part of our brilliant team. To say thank you, we offer a salary and benefits package that’s among the best in our sector. In return for your hard work, you’ll enjoy a competitive salary, full school holidays (including bank holidays), contributory pension (matched up to 5%), Life Insurance based on two times your annual base salary, comprehensive induction and ongoing training, Medicash Health Plan/Employee Assistance, and Cycle to Work Scheme. We’ll also cover the cost of your Enhanced DBS check, which is a compulsory part of our recruitment process.
