Job overview

As one of the fastest growing colleges in the country, these are exciting times at Coulsdon.  Over the last three years, we have been partners with Reigate College in providing specialist sixth form education for over 3,000 full time students across the two colleges.  Together, we ensure outstanding quality and exemplary support for the young people we serve.  As a member of staff you will be valued and supported; in return we are looking for commitment, drive and enthusiasm.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated Counsellor and Student Welfare Officer to provide a counselling service and general welfare advice for learners via one to ones and group work. This post provides an excellent opportunity for a Counsellor looking to progress their career and would suit either an experienced or a newly trained professional wishing to develop their potential.  A suitable level of supervision is provided for by the College.

The post will involve working in liaison with all College teams and providing day to day emotional support to vulnerable learners. The successful candidate will have excellent written and oral communication skills, strong organisational skills and the ability to empathise with a wide range of clients.

The post is offered on a part-time temporary basis for one year to start in March 2017.

For further details about this post email recruit@coulsdon.ac.uk or call the Personnel Department on 01737 551176.  Please note that CVs are accepted at this stage or alternatively an application form is available on our website.

Closing date: 9.00 a.m. on Monday 30th January 2017. Interviews are planned to take place on Monday 6th February 2017.
