South Hampstead High School is looking to appoint an experienced, well-qualified counsellor to work as part of the pastoral team.  

The role will primarily involve counselling pupils from the Senior School but some work with Junior School pupils may be required. This will include independent and confidential counselling through individual sessions, responding to pupils’ personal, social, emotional or educational concerns, ensuring confidentiality at all times and promoting a caring and supportive environment.

The role is part-time, 2 days per week in the first instance and term-time plus 10 days only, starting in September 2022.

The ideal candidate will possess a post-graduate Diploma or Masters in Counselling or Psychotherapy, with a specialist qualification in child and adolescent work. BACP Accreditation, UKCP or BPC registration or registration with an equivalent recognised awarding body is essential.

Previous experience of working in a school setting is desirable but not essential.
