Job overview

Do you want to champion the rights of every student to a high quality, meaningful and rich education?

Your leadership will inspire confidence and clearly articulate an ambition for an excellent, equitable and inclusive education system that lays the foundations for the future well-being and success of all students.

Joining our senior leadership team, you will build upon the outstanding relationships and commitment to partnership working enjoyed between the family of schools, academies, colleges and both councils to improve educational provision and standards in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

You will lead the secondary education and inclusion improvement strategy, jointly leading the Hampshire School Improvement Service, working in partnership with Teaching School Hubs and drawing upon outstanding practice within schools and colleges to exemplify high quality provision.

As part of your role, you will be able to articulate a shared, clear vision which inspires and motivates. You will ensure evidence-based advice, challenge and support is available and targeted resources are used to improve provision and raise standards. You will also further develop a well-supported sold service.

Through senior leadership experience in secondary education settings, you will be able to demonstrate the successful and sustained impact of your leadership on standards and wider outcomes for students. You will understand the principles of inclusion and demonstrate how these would under-pin your work in this role. You will also be deeply committed to improving outcomes for all students, including those who are vulnerable or unfavourably affected by aspects of disadvantage.

In return, we can offer you the opportunity to join a strong and supportive peer group of senior leaders offering high quality support, challenge, and intellectual stimulus to a diverse community of secondary schools and Post 16 settings, who have high expectations of our services. In this role, you will make a difference to students’ lives through empowering senior leaders and teachers to be amazing professionals. These are just some of the benefits you will receive as a Hampshire County Council employee.
