JOB OVERVIEW

We have an exciting opportunity for a hardworking, energetic and innovative Teacher of Chemistry to join our highly successful team whose shared purpose is to inspire and challenge all pupils at Yeovil College.  The successful candidate will either have proven capability in delivering and assessing A Level Chemistry with great outcomes and strong value added or be able to demonstrate their potential to do so.  You will also be able to contribute to the delivery of other Level 2 and 3 Science Programmes within the Kingston Sixth Form including Access to H.E. & BTEC.  The role will also include Course Management of A Level Science and/or the BTEC Applied Science programme.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Delivery of A Level, Access and BTEC Chemistry to mixed ability classes of around 20 students
  • Work alongside the Head of Sixth Form to create a stimulating and engaging curriculum
  • Formative and summative assessment with bespoke planning to challenge and enthuse every learner

YOU WILL HAVE:

  • High standards and expectations for learning for all students, irrespective of ability.
  • Qualified to degree level or more in Chemistry
  • Qualified by PGCE, BEd or equivalent
  • Ability to plan, maintain and develop outstanding teaching and learning.
  • A high level of ICT skills and experience of using these in the classroom to enhance learning.
  • A commitment to all students receiving and outstanding education experience.
