Varndean CollegeBrighton and Hove

Varndean College is one of the most successful sixth form colleges nationally. Offering a broad range of academic and vocational courses, we have an excellent reputation for inclusion and adding value.

At Varndean College, we’re not just here to deliver a great education. We want to break down the barriers to learning, so people get the chance to become their best – whoever they are and whatever the challenges they face.

Our School of Arts offers a diverse range of courses delivered by 15 tutors and four specialist technicians. Well-equipped workshops, studios, editing suites, performance spaces and digital classrooms keep us at the cutting edge and our students enjoy regular visits to cinemas, theatres, galleries and museums in London and across Europe. You will help to take our provision to the next level.

Planning and preparing stimulating learning programmes, assessing students’ progress and championing fresh and innovative approaches to teaching, you will be an inspired and inspiring team leader. We will look to you to advance our curricula and broaden our scope and scale, making us the college of choice for the media arts, so we require someone truly exceptional.

Alongside a degree-level education and QTS, you will bring an impressive record of success in teaching film or media within a 14-19 or post-16 environment. Needless to say, you will be passionate about film and excited to share your knowledge, and you will bring excellent interpersonal and management skills, an extremely organised approach and the drive and determination to increase student numbers. Above all, you will be able to enhance our achievements and ensure that our media courses make headlines so we can build more exciting futures.
