Job overview

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Cover and Transport Administrator to join our dedicated team.

The post holder will be responsible to the Senior Vice Principal for the duties of the post, and will be required to be a robust, proactive and forward-thinking individual, who enjoys working with others, problem solving and has very strong organisational skills and great attention to detail.

Communication in this role is absolutely vital, as the postholder will be liaising with a range of outside agencies to arrange teaching staff cover on a daily basis and asking teaching staff to cover in school as appropriate. This involves significant resilience, logistical skill and the ability to make on the spot decisions, and have challenging conversations with staff, with a focus on developing those key positive relationships to ensure that all runs smoothly.

Working closely with Wiltshire Council and the local bus and taxi companies, they will ensure the smooth running of school transport, requiring excellent forward planning and the ability to work with parents and other stakeholders to ensure bus passes are allocated correctly and any transport issues are resolved promptly and efficiently.

There is also a small amount of administrative work, liaising with the sixth form attendance officer to ensure that sixth form attendance is administered efficiently.
