Chobham Academy opened in September 2013 after joining the highly successful group of Harris Academies. This 3-18 Academy is a world class educational legacy of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Situated within the new East Village complex, the Academy serves the community to be established in 2,800 new homes, along with existing communities in Newham, Waltham forest and nearby London Boroughs. Chobham Academy were awarded "Outstanding" across every category by OfSTED in June 2015.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced cover officer to join our admin team at the Harris Federation's flagship Academy. You will need a minimum of two years' experience and excellent interpersonal skills in line with the job description and person specification.
Chobham Academy is based on an ethos of aspiration, ambition and high achievement for all. It specialises in Performing Arts and English with a focus on sports excellence, and with world class facilities for learning, leisure and sport, it is a dynamic centre of learning and the hub of the community.
We are looking for someone who will:
- Liaise with Coordinators and Academy Leadership group as necessary regarding staff absence and cover;
- Respond to urgent requests for cover during the Academy day;
- Ensure that subject areas have supplied appropriate work for the students;
- Supervise groups of students working independently in subjects across the curriculum;
- Take the register in the first ten minutes and follow up any truancy concerns with SIC;
- Support students to complete the work set to the best of their ability, engaging in the lesson materials with enthusiasm
