Job overview

About the role:  Stationers’ Crown Woods Academy are looking to appoint Cover Supervisors to join the wider Support Department, supervising whole classes during short-term absence of teachers.  The overarching purposes of the role include the following;

•    To give instructions for a lesson as provided for by a teacher 
•    Ensuring good behaviour of the students and make sure the students engage in the earning activity
•    Responding to students’ general questions and provide feedback to the teacher on broad issues such as behaviour
•    Be subject to general supervision and will act under the professional direction of teachers

Please note that Cover Supervisors will not be expected to undertake any planning, preparation or assessment of students’ progress and/or development.  Applicants can consult the Job Description for further information and guidance on the day to day duties of the role.

Working for the Academy:  The Stationers’ Crown Woods Academy campus incorporates nine buildings which include four home schools each serving 450 pupils and students, a Design, Technology and Creative and Performing Arts School, a Sport & Community Education Centre and an Inclusions Hub.  Stationers’ Crown Woods Academy is delighted be part of the Leigh Academy Trust who with the Stationers’ Company and Ravensbourne will enable the new Stationers’ Crown Woods Academy to enhance our provision and develop a Digital Curriculum fit for the future.

What are we looking for in you?  It is preferable for applicants will have previous experience of working with young people but not essential. You will be educated to GCSE level (or equivalent) in literacy and numeracy. You will be committed to personal learning and development, and have a sincere commitment to sharing our long-term aims and drive for continuous improvement.
