The successful applicant will primarily cover classes during teacher absence, but also undertake some administrative duties and projects to support achievement at the School.

Darrick Wood is an oversubscribed and successful 11-18 eight form entry mixed comprehensive, housed in modern buildings on an attractive site in a pleasant catchment area. The School consistently achieves excellent results, was judged to be ‘good’ in its last OFSTED inspection, and was designated a Teaching School in 2013. We are proud to have been awarded the World Class Schools Quality Mark. The School provides good opportunities for career development and a full support programme for all new staff.

Darrick Wood School is a mainstream, co-educational, non-denominational secondary academy for 1700 children aged 11-18. It is situated in Orpington, Kent. In its most recent inspection by Ofsted (January 2019) the School was judged as “Good” in all areas.

The school was founded in 1975. In June 2004, it was awarded specialist status in technology. In 2010, Darrick Wood converted to academy status and a new Sixth-Form building was completed.

In 2015, the secondary school was awarded the World Class Schools quality mark.
