The Role
As a Cover Supervisor you will have a strong classroom presence and experience of working with young people in a teaching or non-teaching capacity. You will cover for absent colleagues taking an active role in teaching the work set, engaging with students and upholding the academy’s high expectations.
No two days will be the same. You will be required to undertake admin and other support duties as directed when not providing cover. You will receive strong support from a “Flagship” inclusion school, and will participate in all aspects of life at the academy.

There are approximately 1,000 students on roll, which includes the Sixth Form. A recent building programme comprises a brand-new Sixth Form Centre, sports facilities including a gym, and a new restaurant and coffee shop for both students and staff. We also have a thriving House system that brings our whole school community together.

Highcrest offers both an excellent induction and support for staff. The Cover Supervisor role may suit a person wishing to join the teaching profession. We offer a full training programme and are a School Centred Initial Teacher Training establishment. There is also the possibility of shared living accommodation.
