21 hours per week, 38 weeks per year

HLTA pt. 16 NJC 2020 (£24,012 annual pro rata)

All Day Friday teaching computing + 2 days

At Burwell Village College we believe that every child has the ability to succeed if we give them the right opportunities.  We have recently rewritten our curriculum to reflect the highest standards in all curriculum areas.  We know that giving children support in areas they need is crucial to their success in life, making them believe that they can achieve anything. 

The role of our cover supervisors is to provide curriculum delivery to classes in order to ensure that our leaders can monitor the impact of our strategies effectively and to cover other planned or emergency absence for staff.  Our teachers have additional time out of the classroom together on a Friday and we need staff who can teach computing (we use the ICompute scheme of work) to facilitate this release.  On the other days the role will be a mixture of leadership release time, staff absence cover and intervention work.  You will work as part of a team of three and alongside our class based TAs, intervention HLTAs and Well-being mentors.  This is a crucial role in enabling the school to carry out its continued development strategies.

The children here are well-behaved, hard-working and eager to learn.  The facilities are fantastic with space and equipment readily available.  Parents are keen to support the school and are positive about the improvements already being made.
