We are looking to appoint a confident and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to provide lesson and registration cover to facilitate students’ learning during the short-term absence of teachers. The successful candidates will be responsible for maintaining high standards of behaviour and ensuring set tasks are completed.
The post will suit someone with a natural ability to engage with and build an excellent rapport with young people. This role is a superb opportunity for anyone wishing to gain experience in a school environment, possibly as part of their career development.
Cover Supervisors are linked to a specific department within the school and at times may be deployed to support learning in other classes or undertake some administrative duties. Alternatively, you may be required to undertake lunchtime supervision on days you are not timetabled to cover all periods.
You must be highly organised, possess excellent interpersonal skills and be able to use your initiative. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will be required to liaise between both students and class teachers. You should have proven experience of working with young people in a professional environment, and a good standard of education including Level 2 Numeracy / Literacy skills.
Full time and part-time hours will be considered and we may be able to offer some teaching in addition to the Cover Supervisor role for applicants with suitable qualifications. We have various hours available for the right candidate working a minimum of 3 fixed days per week between 08:30 and 15:30. Days of the week worked are negotiable.
