Job overview
We need to appoint a new member to our team of Cover Supervisors to cover the secondment of the substantive postholder who is covering a maternity leave.
Cover Supervisors take responsibility for managing classes during short-term teacher absence. They should have the ability to build relationships and enjoy working with young people. They also support departments to develop learning materials and take part in other school activities.
We will tailor training and induction to the needs of the individual appointed.

Caldew School is a popular, rural 11-18 mixed comprehensive school situated south of the city of Carlisle with a catchment area that extends to the fringe of the Lake District. We have 1000 pupils on roll including Sixth Form.
We have a good and improving track record of achievement at all examination levels, good resources and facilities and a rich programme of visits and extra-curricular activities.
Our Ofsted inspection in June 2022 graded Caldew as ‘good. However, we are not complacent and we know that there are areas where we need to do better.
