About the role:  Are you keen to work with our students and support us in delivering a first-class education?  Are you looking for a new role to start as soon as possible? The Leigh Academy have a new opportunity to appoint a Cover Supervisor who will make a real impact to our students' learning.  Our successful candidate will be responsible for the supervision of whole classes during short-term absence of teachers, providing instructions for a lesson as provided for by a teacher.  The Cover Supervisor will ensure the good behaviour of the students and make sure the students engage in the learning activity.  The ability to build strong and effective working relationship is essential for this role, so if you feel you meet the criteria – we’d love to hear from you! Training will be provided for the post-holder and if there are certain subject areas of preference to you and your skill-set, we would do our best to adhere to this. ​​​​​​​

Our successful candidate will be supervising lesson across all subject areas for years 7-11 and an interest in Physical Education would be advantageous, but not essential. The working hours are 32.5 hours per week, 8.15am - 3.15pm with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break.

This post is ideal for graduates with an interest in developing a career in teaching as the experience you can gain from this is first-hand, and also those who may have had experience within the education sector beforehand.

Being part of Leigh Academies Trust: As of 1st September 2021, our Trust will comprise 31 geographically organised academies (15 secondaries, 14 primaries and 2 special) educating 20,000 students, and employing 2,500 talented staff.
