Job overview

At Trinity Academy, we place emphasis on academic excellence, where all students and staff have the opportunity to work hard to achieve their personal best. Our mission is to encourage personal, moral and spiritual development within a Christian framework. We are a vibrant community, housed in a modern facility with good motorway links which puts us in easy reach of Leeds, Sheffield and Hull.

We require a Cover Supervisor who will be responsible for supervising secondary school children within a classroom environment, following work that has been previously set for you. This will require someone with adaptability and flexibility, and someone willing to make a good impression within the Academy.

Applications are welcome from graduates who have significant experience of working as Teaching Assistants in either Secondary or SEN schools, suitably qualified HLTAs (although training can be given), and those who have education-based qualifications.

The welfare of our staff is important to us. We are firmly committed to CPD and offer a comprehensive programme with superb promotion prospects and career development. We subscribe to the Workplace Options scheme, the childcare voucher scheme (Sodexo) and all staff are given a daily meal allowance.

Visits from prospective candidates are warmly welcomed.

If you believe you have the vision and commitment to work in an Academy which seeks to raise achievement as well as set and maintain high standards and expectations, visit http://www.trinity-academy.org.uk/opportunities/trinity-vacancies/

Trinity Academy opened in September 2005 in a brand new £24m state-of-the-art building, which has since been extended to meet the demand for a vibrant sixth form. Trinity is a distinctive school: we believe that children are created in the image of God, infinitely (and intrinsically) precious, uniquely gifted, and morally responsible. We therefore dream big dreams for our students: they are the leaders of the future. Our task is to prepare them to exercise that leadership by raising aspiration, shaping character and stimulating minds.

At the heart of our school improvement journey is a conviction within the staff team that together we can make a difference. Expectations are therefore made clear to students and their parents, and teachers employ consistent routines to maintain high standards.   Teachers are subject experts, and we encourage a straightforward evidence-based pedagogy that sets teachers free to express their own individual style in the classroom.  We place a premium on high quality, bespoke continuing professional development and develop strong relationships between staff and students which are based upon mutual respect.

We seek colleagues for whom teaching is a vocation rather than a career, who set the highest standards for children regardless of starting point, and who believe in the transformative power of education.

Part of Emmanuel Schools Foundation, Trinity Academy has sister schools in Blyth, Gateshead, Middlesbrough and Sunderland.
