South Hunsley is a genuinely outstanding school where everyone has the highest possible aspirations. We believe that the potential of young people is limitless and we are very proud of the fact that our students are the highest performing students in the East Riding. Our committed and caring staff are fundamental to the success of our students.

South Hunsley is a very large, heavily over-subscribed secondary school with over 2100 students on roll, including 430 in the sixth form. We are fortunate to work with fantastic students, an outstanding staff and supportive parents. The school was judged to be outstanding by Ofsted in 2013. In each of the last 3 years, our Progress 8 figure has been in the range of +0.49 to +0.59 and we have won the Pupil Premium Award for Yorkshire and the Humber in 2 of the last 4 years. Our sixth form goes from strength to strength and this summer we were placed in the top 10% of providers according to ALPS. We have an outstanding programme of personal development and extra-curricular activities and in 2016 we were rated as the third best state school for sport.
