An exciting opportunity has arisen at Barking Abbey School for a female PE Cover Supervisor to work under the guidance of teaching staff and within an agreed system of supervision, to implement work programmes with individuals/groups in or out of the classroom including the supervision of whole classes during the short term absence of teachers. The successful candidate must have experience and qualifications of delivering practical PE lessons for a range of abilities.

The School is seeking female applicants for this position because the successful candidate must be able to enter the girls' changing rooms as required in the absence of a female PE teacher.  The School believes that the need to preserve decency and privacy forms a Genuine Occupational Requirement under the Equality Act 2010 Part 1 Schedule 9.

Barking Abbey is a heavily over-subscribed split site secondary school in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, and has a well-deserved reputation for its friendly and supportive atmosphere and its excellent academic achievements.

Interested applicants should download the core staff application form, found on-line at www.barkingabbeyschool.co.uk and email completed application forms to jobs@barkingabbeyschool.co.uk
